Russell Ford had a brief exposure to the art of glass blowing during his grade school days. The fascination with his experience has stayed with him ever since. In 1988, ten years after moving to Wallowa County, he had the opportunity to study glass blowing for two years at Eastern Oregon University. It has become obvious the learning process is ongoing and the colour combinations are endless. |

Raku Pottery |

Mary Hosick- Uses the firing processes of slip resist naked raku, horsehair raku, and sagger firing. Glazes, if any, are used minimally. Instead of glaze the fundamental elements of fire and smoke create atmospheres using materials as basic as sawdust, horsehair, steel wool, copper wire, and banana peels that fume, creating soft, flowing patterns on the porous bare clay. |
